    不朽KASTCHEI的魔幻冰雪森林

    火鸟被KASTCHEI的野猪护卫队抓住了。不久之后，Vladimir王子来到这里打猎，穿越了冰雪森林。护卫队又一次出现了，带来了灵魂棺材。打开棺材，不朽的KASTCHEI出现了。美丽的金发公主Irina在穿越森林的时候被Kastchei抓住。他向公主展示着他刚刚得到的珍宝——火鸟。Irina公主挣脱了Kastchei的手，并把火鸟从笼子里放走了。被激怒的Kastchei把公主关到了笼子里并高高地挂在空中。

    火鸟获得了自由，从Kastchei的领地里飞了出来，而后又飞进了城堡外Vladimir王子正在打猎的石头森林。突然一道亮光射进王子的眼睛，很快他就明白那就是神奇而又美丽的火鸟——一只半女人半鸟兽的珍宝。王子惊喜地抓到了她，而火鸟再一次想逃跑。可这次她没有挣脱，但她发现王子并没有想要伤害她，因为这个王子对待她是如此地温柔。慢慢地，她让王子把自己抱在怀里。但为了能更远地飞离这个被施了魔法的冰冷森林，火鸟请求王子放了她，并从自己身上拔下一根火焰般的美丽羽毛送给了Vladimir王子。王子拥有了带着魔力的羽毛，火鸟告诉他，当他需要帮助的时候，就带着祈祷把羽毛高高举起在空中挥舞。她把王子转向Kastchei城堡的方向，希望他能看到被关在那里的Irina公主，并把公主连同其他那些被关起来的少女们解救出来。当王子转过身的时候，火鸟已经飞走了。已经被她深深吸引的王子跑进了深深地森林，追逐火鸟。他并没有仔细地去看冰冷森林里的Irina公主和那些早已被抓的少女们。

    这个时候，城堡里的Kastchei正透过铁闸门向外察看有没有其他的人经过。他想把他们诱陷进他的冰冷森林，就象他以前做的那样。在确定外面没有人之后，他允许公主和那些少女在夜色中获得了自由，但是，仅仅是片刻的。

    王子拿着火鸟给予他的那根美丽的羽毛又一次出现了。他依然为火鸟那神奇的力量所着迷，王子记得她的美丽，并把那根羽毛藏在衣服里紧紧贴着心脏的地方小心地保护着。他听到从森林深处传来的一个声音一步一步地向他靠近。他转过身，看到原来是9个美丽的少女。其中最美丽的那一个，正是忧伤的公主Irina。王子躲在树后看着她们，但他的眼睛始终没有离开公主。随后他奔向正在夜色中嬉闹的少女们。忽然，少女们发现她们当中出现了一个陌生人——手拿弓弩的猎手。受到惊吓的少女们开始慢慢的远离王子。

    王子知道少女们害怕他，因为他是拿着弓弩从树后突然跳出的。可就这个时候，Vladimir王子和Irina公主的眼神都紧紧地投在对方的身上，不曾离开。王子向公主优雅地鞠躬，女还们看出了王子身上带着的贵族气息。除了王子之外，还有谁会如此地穿着考究，还有谁会如此优雅地鞠躬呢？王子走到了公主的身旁，少女们都看出他们两个人已经一见钟情了。之后，他们两个人很温和地拥抱，可是却被Kastchei警告的声音打断了。已经是深夜了，铁闸门即将关闭。害怕激怒Kastchei的少女们催促公主赶紧回到城堡里。但是Vladimit没有那么轻易地就让他走掉。公主请求王子赶快离开这个可怕的地方之后，及时地在铁闸门掉下之前跑进了城堡。王子被关在了铁门外面，而公主 已经消失在了这座黑暗，不祥的城堡中。

    场景2

    城堡中——王子被抓，KASTCHEI的怪兽护卫队现身

    Vladimir王子围绕着城堡的城墙跑来跑去，试图找到可以进入的通道。这时，野猪护卫队再一次出现，跟着它们的是那些石头雕像，而此时的雕像已经可以活动，并抓住了王子。Kastchei的全体怪兽护卫队全部出现了，王子被推倒在了地上。Kastchei出现了，所有被他奴役的生灵都恭敬地向他鞠躬致意。他逼近王子，王子想要起身对抗Kastchei，可他的力量实在太大了，王子无法与他抗衡。Kastchei要把王子变成石头，就在这最后的紧要关头，王子想起了藏在他胸前的那根火鸟的羽毛。他按照火鸟告诉他的那样，把羽毛高高地举在空中挥动。随着一道亮光，火鸟出现了。火鸟飞速地从王子手中拿过羽毛，在王子变成石头之前的一刹那解除了咒语。Kastchei的随从们疯狂地奔向火鸟，而火鸟用它神奇的力量迫使Kastchei和他的护卫队跳起了舞。就在他们跳着恶魔之舞的时候，所有的恶灵都崩溃坍塌了。

    宁静又一次到来，火鸟盘旋在已经恍惚沉睡的恶魔上空。魔力已经被削弱的Kastchei试图唤醒他们。他知道火鸟即将解除附在他们身上的咒语，让他们的灵魂重新回到他们身体里，使他们获得重生。但Kastchei并没有全力地唤醒他们，他收回了一些力量企图杀死火鸟，但是被王子和公主所阻止。火鸟摆脱了Kastchei获得了自由，神奇地打开了他那个装满灵魂的棺材，释放了被关在里面许久的灵魂们。而Kastchei，掉进了万丈深渊。。。

    阳光开始照进阴森森的城堡大厅，这个终日不见光亮的大厅。王子和公主，还有所有那些少女们在火鸟的指引下奔向了新的黎明。

    场景3

    颂歌：婚礼，欣喜，重生

    大树不在冰冻，森林获得了新生。Vladimit王子和Irina公主的婚礼庆典上充满着喜庆的气氛。火鸟飞翔在这个重获生机的王国上空。

    THE FIREBIRD

    SCENE I:

    THE ENCHANTED FROZEN FOREST OF THE IMMORTAL KASTCHEI
The Firebird is captured by Kastchei's Warthog Guards.  Soon after, Prince Vladimir passes through the frozen forest hunting.  The guards again appear bringing forward the
casket of souls.  Out of it appears The Immortal Kastchei.  The Fair Princess Irina is passing through the forest and is captured by Kastchei. He shows her his prized possession, the newly captured Firebird.  Princess Irina breaks away from Kastchei's grip and releases the Firebird from the cage.  Kastchei, in his fury, puts Princess Irina into the cage and hangs it high in the air.

    The Firebird, now freed from Kastchei’s domain, flies out and into the enchanted Petrified Forest outside the castle where Prince Vladimir is hunting.  The Prince sees a bright light that blinds him, but soon realizes it is the magical and beautiful Firebird - half woman and half bird.  He catches her by surprise and she tries in vain to flee.  She cannot get out of his grasp but soon realizes he will not hurt her for he treats her tenderly.  Slowly, she allows him to hold her gently in his arms.  Eager to fly farther away from the enchanted frozen forest, the Firebird plucks a beautiful fiery feather from her plumage and presents it to Prince Vladimir.  With her feather as his charm, she tells him that all he must do is wave it high in the air and he is assured of her magic intercession should he ever need help.  She turns him toward Kastchei’s castle in hopes that he will see Princess Irina and save her along with the other captive maidens held prisoner.  She quickly flies off into the forest while his back is turned.  The Prince, so enamored by the Firebird, turns and runs deeper into the forest in pursuit of her.  He does not look deep enough into the frozen forest to see Princess Irina and the other maidens that have been captured long before.

    Meanwhile, from inside the castle, Kastchei looks out through the portcullis to see if there are any other travelers passing by.  He will entrap them and turn them in to stone as he has so many times before.  Seeing that no one is there, he allows his captured princess and maidens out into the night air, but only for a while.
Prince Vladimir reappears holding the beautiful feather given to him by the Firebird.  Still in a semi-trance from her magical powers, he remembers her beauty and embraces the feather by putting it into his garment close to his heart for safe keeping.
   
    He hears something in the distant forest coming his way.  As he turns to see, he realizes that what he hears are nine beautiful maidens.  One, who is the fairest of all, is the sad but beautiful Princess Irina.  He hides behind the trees and watches them but keeps his gaze only on Princess Irina.  He soon rushes out toward the maidens as they frolic in the cool night air.  Suddenly, they see a stranger among them - a hunter with his cross bow.  Frightened, they begin to move slowly away from him. 

    Prince Vladimir realizes that they are frightened because he is carrying his cross bow and rushes to hide it behind the trees.  All the while, both Princess Irina and Prince Vladimir never lose eye contact.  He bows graciously to the princess and they all soon see that he is of noble upbringing; for who would bow so gallantly and be so well-dressed other than a prince?  The prince moves closer to Princess Irina and all the maidens notice that they are becoming fond of one another.  Soon, and very tenderly, they embrace - only to be interrupted by the warning sound of Kastchei.
    It is now midnight and the gates are about to close.  Knowing the wrath of Kastchei should anyone be missing; all the maidens urge Princess Irina to come into the castle.  But Prince Vladimir will not let her go easily.  Begging him to leave this terrible place, she breaks away just in time before the rapidly closing portcullis closes in on her.  Prince Vladimir is left outside and Princess Irina disappears into the dark, foreboding castle.

    SCENE II:

    INSIDE THE CASTLE - THE CAPTURE OF PRINCE VLADIMIR AND THE
APPEARANCE OF KASTCHEI’S MONSTER GUARDIANS
Prince Vladimir runs about outside the castle walls, trying to find his way in.  The Warthog Guards reappear along with the Stone Statues who now begin to move and claw at him.  The Prince is subdued and pushed to the ground as all of Kastchei’s monster followers enter.  Kastchei emerges and all his enslaved creatures bow in homage to him.  Menacingly, he approaches Prince Vladimir.  The Prince tries to stand up to Kastchei but his powers are too strong for the Prince to fight against.  Kastchei begins to turn the Prince into stone.  Just before the final blow the Prince remembers the Firebird’s feather that he put into his vestment.  He retrieves it and waves it high in the air as the Firebird told him to do.  In a flash, the Firebird instantly appears.  She quickly takes the feather from the Prince and breaks the spell before he is turned completely to stone.  Kastchei's retinue runs frantically from the Firebird.  She then compels Kastchei and all his monsters to dance.  While they dance The Infernal Dance, mayhem ensues until they all collapse.

    Calm is brought upon everyone and the Firebird hovers over the hushed demons causing them to fall into a trance-like sleep.  Weakened, Kastchei tries in vain to awaken them.  He knows the Firebird will soon remove the spell he has put upon them and return their souls bringing them back to true life.  But, Kastchei is not finished.  He regains some of his power and tries to kill the Firebird, but the Prince and Princess intervene.  The Firebird is freed from Kastchei’s clutch and she magically summons his casket of souls to fling wide open.  With an explosive fury, the Firebird releases all the souls held captive in the casket.  Kastchei falls into the abyss to his doom.
The sunlight begins to shine into the darkened castle halls; halls which have never seen the light of day.  The Prince and Princess and all the maidens are drawn toward the Firebird and the new dawn.

    SCENE III:

    THE APOTHEOSIS: THE MARRIAGE, GENERAL REJOICING AND RETURN TO LIFE

    The trees are no longer frozen and the forest sprouts new life.  All rejoice at the ceremony as Prince Vladimir and Princess Irina are married.  The Firebird soars above as the kingdom is restored with the new gift of life.
